As part of its ongoing awareness campaign, the Amana Sickle Cell Foundation recently visited Sheikh Adam College of Arabic and Secondary School in Azare. The event, attended by students, teachers, and administrators, aimed to educate the audience about sickle cell disease, its causes, symptoms, and management.
Abdulqadir Gombo Musa, CEO of Amana Sickle Cell Foundation, delivered informative lectures and engaged in interactive sessions with the students. Malam Shamsu Sani emphasized the importance of knowing one’s genotype, genetic counseling, and early detection and management.
“We are committed to reducing the burden of sickle cell disease in our communities,” said CEO. “By educating young people, we hope to empower them to make informed decisions about their health and future.”
The school’s administration expressed gratitude to the Amana Sickle Cell Foundation for bringing this vital information to their students. This sensitization campaign is part of the foundation’s broader efforts to raise awareness about sickle cell disease and promote preventive measures in Nigeria.
